Vishesh : This raag is very similar to raag Aasavari in its rendering and is very sweet to listen to. Whereas in Asavari both G and D are denied (varjya) in aaroh, in Jaunpuri only G is varjya. But then the Raag atmosphere remains the same. Hence the Jaunpuri compositions with komal r should be aptly called Aasavari for diverse effects. However, the sweet melody called Komal r Asavari i.e. with komal r also with the Asavari aaroha is also well known. Since the name Jaunpuri is currently accepted and also the Aasavari with only different Aroha as stated above are in vogue.
